ABOUT THE BOOK

When will it be my turn? That’s the question I repeatedly asked myself  as I watched friend after friend walk down the aisle to her happily ever after. I wondered if something was wrong with me and thought that I would never find my one true love.

But friends, God taught me that His love is greater. He taught me that waiting is not a curse, but a gift. He showed me that the source of my value is not in my marital status. And in this unwanted and lingering season of singleness, He did not leave me. In fact, He was right there all along.

This is my story of learning what it means to value God’s opinion and His plan above all else. It is full of stubborn mistakes and melodramatic tears, but it is my story. And knowing what I know now, I wouldn’t change it for the world.

But it’s not just my story. It’s His story. No matter where you are, He’s chosen you, too. Whether we’re waiting on a soulmate, a baby, or a promotion, when we learn that we are already chosen by Him, we will find immeasurable peace and joy.

ENDORSEMENTS

We all have that something that we're waiting or hoping for, but find we are sitting in the "not yet." Jessica's Already Chosen shares her struggles in these "not yet" moments while providing biblical, practical ways to thrive in these challenging times. Her writing is honest, transparent, and is packed with her down to earth humor and powerful wisdom. I love Jessica's writing, because you can see her dogged pursuit of the Lord's heart for her life, as well as her desire to share every ounce of love and revelation she's received with others. Jessica reminds us that we aren't meant to spend our waiting seasons in self pity or moping, but that God has something equally exciting and purposed in this now and not yet!

I wish something like this would have been around when I was in my early 20s and waiting to meet my husband. It helps to focus on the eternal and not the temporary.

Although it’s Jessica’s story, the principles in the book are applicable to anyone who is waiting on the Lord. Everyone at some point and time is “waiting." Instead of reading it as waiting for a “husband” or “marriage,” the reader can substitute her own personal circumstances. This truly is a book for everyone.
